Bill Longman comes from Harris, Saskatchewan where he and his wife Alana and son Garret raise sport ponies and horses and black Angus cattle. Growing up in the mountains of Alberta and on the prairies of Saskatchewan gave Bill the opportunity to learn about and pursue the various species of game, birds and fish. When he wasn’t playing hockey or basketball he was in ‘the bush” or “the pasture” honing the skills needed to eventually become a successful trophy hunter. Three days after graduating high school and only 17 years old, Bill was flying off to work in the Northwest Territories as a fishing guide for monster lake trout and grayling. While there he drew the camp tag and took his first bull barren ground caribou. It was then that he realized the fishing pole would now be replaced solely with a bow, musket or rifle.

Working as a seasonal conservation officer, a rancher and guide for waterfowl and upland hunters has taught him a great respect for the land and the animals that call it home. His passion for hunting can be called a little more than obsessive. In his spare time Bill is an avid shed hunter, videographer and also documents and photographs some of the trophy deer taken in Saskatchewan for Big Buck Magazine.
